The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
Over the past biennium, Chi Omegas have organized and sponsored successful events through volunteer and fund-raising projects that have raised both financial support and public awareness of this important cause.
Chi Omega is now a Gold Level Sponsor
with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since the alliance was established in 2001, Chi Omegas have raised over $3.8 million and donated over 238,000 volunteer hours for local Make-A-Wish chapters. To see the joyous smiles on the faces of all wish children and their families is living proof of the giving spirit of all Chi Omegas.
This past semester, we were able to grant two wishes! It was truly the highlight of our semester.
Psi Chapter raises money for Make-A-Wish in numerous ways:
- Dad's Day "Hottest Dad Contest" (Each member decorates a shoe box with pictures of their dad and other members and their families vote on who has the "Hottest Dad!"
- Mom's Day "Silent Auction" (We would not be able to have this event without our wonderful Mom's Club and alumnae chapters. This is an event many people look forward to all year! This past fall, our raffle included a handpainted Razorback statue, an iPhone, and an exclusive Hobo wallet from Mason's.)
