The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
Each school year, our chapter hosts one philanthropy event. Family, friends, and members of the Greek and Kent community enjoy supporting our events and helping us raise money for our amazing causes! In the spring of 2015, our chapter hosted our first ever Chi O Karaoke. The proceeds benefited Make-A-Wish, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Relay for Life. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is our local philanthropy.
We also participate in the annual Walk for Wishes event at the Cleveland Zoo in the summer, as well the MS walk at Akron in the spring.
In the fall of 2012, our chapter was able to meet our Wish Child Mackenzie. Our hard work at our philanthropy events paid off and we were able to grant her wish to go to Disney World! We had a princess party for her at our chapter house and were grateful to meet her and see how we positively impacted her life. In March of 2015, Mackenzie attended our Chi O Karaoke event and performed at it!
