Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

"A Chi Omega.... It's not someone you become, but it's who you've always been."

A t the University of Nebraska-Omaha, the Zeta Delta chapter is always doing something together whether it be coming together for a sisterhood event, competing in Greek Week, just meeting for coffee or lunch, or  getting dressed up to dance the night away at formal! Our sisterhood is strong and every week at meeting the ladies are catching up on what they've missed on since their last coffee date, movie night, or pilates class together earlier in the week. You are always sure find Chi Omegas around campus or Omaha doing something together.  That's no surprise because between our big planned events on the calendar and all of the different, unplanned events and get-togethers on campus and around Omaha the women find to do on any given day, you are sure to find a group of friends in Chi Omega who are ready to have good time and make life-long memories together with you.

For the upcoming Spring 2012 semester we are looking forward to one of the best semesters yet!  Some of the events we already have planned are Formal, Sisterhood Events, Farther-Daughter Day, Hula-hoop-a-thon, a week long of fun competition for Greek Week, and intramurals. As always we will be raising funds for Make-a-Wish!

In the pasts school year we won the title of Homecoming Champs and UNO's Homecoming Queen was a Chi Omega. We held mutiple fundraisers for Make-A-Wish including CupCakes for kids; a fundraiser held at Jones Bros Cupcakes wtih special activies for young children. We intiated 26 amazing girls and have continued to foster our excellent sisterhood!
