Community Service means that we want to make a difference on our campuses and in our communities.  We know that giving back to others unselfishly makes the world a better place and makes us better people.   Serving and giving helps to connect us.

In addition to our national philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Chi Omegas also actively participate in charitable events organized by other student groups throughout the entire year.

We host Wash U's Rent-a-Pet fundraiser, where students and community members could donate money in order to spend time with dogs. The event is held multiple times during the year in order to support various causes including Make-A-Wish and Thurtene. Chi Omegas also participate in Relay for Life, which benefits the American Cancer Society. Our sisters can be seen both walking the track and behind the scenes throughout the event!  Chi Omegas are also enthusiastic participants of Dance Marathon, an all-night dance party that raises money for the Children's Miracle Network. Dance Marathon 2012 raised over $128,500 for Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center and St. Louis Children's Hospital. Chi Omegas are proud to say that we were the number one fundraising sorority at the 2012 St. Louis Area Dance Marathon!

ThurtenE Carnival, hosted by ThurtenE Junior Honorary, is an incredible community carnival that brings together over 50 student groups in a fun, entertaining event for the greater St. Louis community. Proceeds from the carnival benefit local charities. Each year, Greek chapters design and build unique facades as well as write and perform original plays during the carnival. Chi Omega has partnered with Beta Theta Pi fraternity for the past six carnivals. In 2012 Chi O-Beta won the highest honor available, the Burmeister Cup with our summer camp themed facade! For our library facade in 2011 we won Best Construction. In 2006 and 2010 our Egyptian-theme and Time Machine plays were named Best Production. In 2007, we received the Green Award for being the most environmentally-friendly group at the Carnival, and in 2009 we won the Spirit Award for our unending enthusiasm for the event!

Chi Omega also supports other Greeks in their philanthropy events, which include:
  • AEPhi Phi Pheast
