Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
This year, the Chi Delta Chapter raised about $17,000 with our annual Walk-for-a-WIsh and Drawdown! We couldn't have done it without the participation and generous donations of our supportive families, friends, and Jackson community!
Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

Chi Delta's story begins in 1932, when a group of girls planning to attend Millsaps College after graduating from Central High School, decided to begin a local chapter.  In 1934, a charter was granted to the Tri Chi's, and they became the Chi Delta chapter of Chi Omega.  Within the first year of our charter, the Chi Delta chapter had the largest sorority on campus.  Since then, the Chi Delta's remain a strong and active chapter at Millsaps College with 50+ members.
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship means that we care about our intellectual development.  We embrace the spirit and excitement of learning throughout our lives and encourage others to better themselves.

This year our chapter won the Millsaps Greek Award for the highest GPA of all the greek organizations on campus.  Our 3.4 GPA is also above the Chi Omega national average and the women's national average.

The Chi Delta chapter at Millsaps is a chapter incredibly passionate about scholarship, service and sisterhood. With our annual "Walk for a Wish" walk-a-thon for the Make a Wish foundation, Chi Delta has raised enough funds for our philanthropy to grant several 'wishes' to children who are suffering from disease or other illnesses. Chi Delta strives for academic excellence by spending late nights in the library, and group study sessions.. And our hard work paid off when we recently became the Greek organization with the highest new member AND chapter GPA! We stay involved with the surrounding Jackson community by taking part in the Adopt-A-Class program though Wellspring. Our sisters love spending time tutoring the Elementary school children at Brown Elementary. The Chi Delta chapter strives to exemplify the Chi Omega Symphony in which we are encouraged to be "womanly always; to be discouraged never."
