Yippie Chi-O Fall 2011
September 18, 2011 we held our annual philanthropy right behind Ball Memorial Hospital. We had such a great turn out with 20+ teams participating. This year our Wish Kid is Whitney a three year old with mitochondrial disease. Mitochondrial disease affects all major organs, making extreme temperatures difficult along with constant symptoms. We were fortunate enough to get to meet Whitney, along with her sister Brooke and both their mom and dad. Whitney's wish is to go on a Disney Cruise--and with help from different communities we will reach our goal. As a second part of our philanthropy-the local Muncie Chilis has been kind enough to let 10% of their earnings go towards Whitney and her wish.
Yippie Chi-O Fall 2010This past fall in the Phi Epsilon Chapter of Chi Omega we sponsored a rodeo event called "Yippie Chi-O." With lots of Greek members and other students we helped raise money for a young boy we sponsor in hopes to grant his wish. When he was asked what his one wish would be he replied "to go see the castle." This year we were thankful enough that our make a wish boy, came to our event and we got to meet him and his family. Thanks again so much for all the support from Greek and non-Greek members who came out to make our Third annual Yippie Chi-O event a wonderful day with a great turn out.

After our Yippie Chi O event, we ended up raising over $5,000 dollars to help grant our wish kids wish to send him and his family to Disney World to go see the Castle!!
In addition to Chi Omega's national philanthropic cause, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, our local chapter also participates in raising money and awareness for the Breast Cancer foundation. This philanthropy touches a special place in all our hearts as recently a sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer during her college career. In addition, many sisters are affected daily through strong women in their lives such as mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and friends who are diagnosed with the disease. Together we work every year to help fight the growing epidemic of Breast Cancer to save lives.
