Friendship is what binds us to each other and to our Fraternity.  The friendships we develop in Chi Omega give us a home across geography and generations and give us lasting support throughout our lives.8429043_orig.jpg

From casual hangouts to formal events, Chi Omega is a place for true friendship and sisterhood.  For Xi
members, the bonds we form within our chapter will last far beyond the four years we spend together in college.

Xi's social events are the perfect opportunity for the sisters to bond and make memories together.
Xi Chapter hosts a number of events throughout the year, including crush parties, date parties, and formals at venues in the Chicago area.

After initiating, our new members come into more than a house full of sisters, they are warmly welcomed by their Big Sisters.
Our Big Sisters are great mentors during the transition into Greek life and form a bond unlike any other.

Membership in Chi Omega is for a lifetime. Our network of Sisters and the spirit of Chi Omega are a home wherever you are. We invite you to connect!

Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.

Xi Chapter has a history of giving back.  Through our philanthropy events, we help the partnership grow between Chi Omega and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  This past school year, we kept busy with a philanthropy event every quarter.

~In the fall, we will be hosting our inaugural Wish Week, an effort to bring awareness of Make-A-Wish to Northwestern's campus through various events centered at the Rock.

~In the winter, we will be hosting Fondue Night for our fourth time. We serve delicious chocolate fondue with tons of dipping snacks like strawberries, bananas, pretzels, marshmallows, and so much more.

~This spring, we will bring back our philanthropy event benefitting Make-A-Wish, the Chi O'Merica 5K and Barbecue, for the second time.

Xi's have a fantastic time giving back and working with such a great organization as Make-A-Wish.

Another way we give back to our community is through participating in other sororities' and fraternities' philanthropies throughout the year, and we always try to send teams to each organization's philanthropies. In addition, our members volunteer countless of hours on their own with many different organizations, including LIFT, NCDC, GreekBuild, Campus Kitchens, Supplies for Dreams, Relay for Life, and Dance Marathon.

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.
Xi Chapter was founded in 1901 and continues to carry on Chi Omega's traditions on Northwestern University's campus. The Chi Omega Symphony, which expresses all the values of Chi Omega and is upheld by every chapter across the country, was written here at Xi chapter over 100 years ago by a freshman girl the evening before her initiation.

Chi Omega is the largest woman's organization in the country. Every year chapters recruit new members to carry on the traditions of Chi Omega. Xi Chapter welcomes new members into its sisterhood every winter quarter. For more information about formal sorority recruitment at Northwestern University, please visit the Panhellenic website.
