Chapter Updates

With fall 2010 recruitment over, the Phi Kappa chapter went above and beyond recruitment expectations with 36 new members! The Phi Kappa chapter currently has 66 members!

After Phi Kappa got its new members during recuritment, we invited all the member's families to come to our house for a fun sunday afternoon full of food and fun to celebrate our upcoming year. We have this family day every year shortly after new members join our chapter. During family day, we gave out fun awards to our members and bonded with our friends and family over lunch.

Throughout the school year, Phi Kappa was involved in many intramurals. Some of the intramurals that we are involved in are flag football, basketball, soccer, and softball.

Phi Kappa recently took 3rd place at the Greek Variety Show! Our theme was Glee! Sisters danced to a variety of songs including "This Is How We Do It", "Tricky", "Let Me Clear My Throat", and many others. We also had a member of our chapter compete in the Greek Goddess pagent that happens during greek week. Ce-Ce Miley did a wonderful job representing our chapter! Thanks for all the hard work!

This year Alyshia Bailey got the honor of being the Rose for the Kappa Alpha Fraternity! Also, Mandy Boland got the honor of being the sweetheart for the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Ce-Ce Miley got the honor of being the dreamgirl for the Delta Chi Fraternity!

Phi Kappa put on an alumni social to welcome back the alumni of our chapter. The theme was "What Used to be Cool" and the turn out was great. We love seeing our alumni and talking about what the chapter used to be like when they were in school!

At the Carroll County Relay for Life, Phi Kappa set up a tent that served Shanes BBQ and did face painting to raise money. We raised a total of $989 for the American Cancer Society!

Phi Kappa is excited for fall recruitment which starts this August. Go Greek!

Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.
The Chi Omega Symphony has reflected the purposes of Chi Omega members since its composition in 1904 by Ethel Switzer Howard on the eve of her initiation into the Xi Chapter of Chi Omega at Northwestern University.
