Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.

Our chapter's dedication to supporting the Make A Wish Foundation paid off last February when we were able to grant a wish for Jason Bray, a teenager who has muscular dystrophy. Zeta Kappa surprised Jason at a UNCG basketball game with tickets to Las Vegas to meet his favorite Nascar driver, Jimmie Johnson. Our chapter's annual Kick for a Wish kickball tournament, Charity Denim designer jeans fundraiser, and Family Day silent auction raised $6,200 to grant Jason's wish. Thank you to everyone who contributed to our fundraisers and helped to make this possible! Our chapter is already on its way towards granting our next wish!

Zeta Kappa also supports the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Each year during Breast Cancer Awareness Week, we co-sponsor a Breast Cancer Awareness Speaker with Student Health Services. We also distribute pamphlets and brochures to raise awareness on campus about the disease. Our chapter also participates and volunteers at the Susan G. Komen Women's Only 5K Walk and Run.

Other philanthropies that Zeta Kappa has supported include Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Greensboro, Relay for Life, Greensboro Humane Society, and Greensboro Department of Parks and Recreation. In addition to our own events, our chapter also participates in philanthropic events sponsored by other Greek organizations.

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

The Zeta Kappa chapter of Chi Omega was founded at UNCG on January 10, 1989. Our symbol is the owl. Our colors are cardinal (red) and straw (yellow). Our flower is the white carnation. Chi Omega boasts many prominent alumnae, ranging from movie stars and former Miss Americas to governors and astronauts!

Scholarship
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship means that we care about our intellectual development.  We embrace the spirit and excitement of learning throughout our lives and encourage others to better themselves.

To help maintain balance between learning and activities, Chi Omega provides many tools to assist members as they reach and exceed their academic goals. Some of these resources include study hours, the scholarship committee, the scholarship adviser, the vice president in charge of scholarship, study buddies, academic incentives, and awards.

Our chapter repeatedly earns one of the highest GPAs of all Greek organizations on campus. We are proud to have members who are involved with prestigious academic honor organizations such as University Marshals, Phi Beta Sigma, Order of Omega, Rho Lambda, Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, and many more.

Symphony
The Chi Omega Symphony has reflected the purposes of Chi Omega members since its composition in 1904 by Ethel Switzer Howard on the eve of her initiation into the Xi Chapter of Chi Omega at Northwestern University.

Our Symphony articulates the true ideal of a Chi Omega sister. Every Chi Omega carries the Symphony in her heart, and most have a favorite line upon which they often reflect.

Welcome
Welcome to the Zeta Kappa Chapter of the Chi Omega Fraternity at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro!

I am so proud and excited to welcome you to our chapter! As president of the Zeta Kappa chapter, I have the distinguished honor of representing an amazing and diverse group of women. Chi Omega has become my home away from home during my years at UNCG, providing me with valuable friendships that will last a lifetime. Whether its studying with my sisters in the library, raising money for our philanthropies, or hanging out in the chapter room, I can't imagine my life at UNCG without my Chi Omega sisters.

As sisters, we take pride in our academic achievement, philanthropic efforts, campus involvement, and our ability to balance it all on top of a full social calendar. Each year, we have two date parties, a semi-formal, a formal, social events with other organizations on campus, and chapter sisterhood events. There is always something exciting going on in our chapter!

We invite you to explore our website so that you can get an idea of what being a Chi O at UNCG is all about!

Chi Omega Love and Mine,
Emily Goodson
Zeta Kappa Chapter President
