The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
Our chapter helps raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through our annual fundraisers. Each spring, we organize DipSync, a lip-syncing and dancing competition, to the Franklin and Marshall campus. Many campus groups entertained a crowd of students and a panel of four judges, who deliberated the winner. In spring 2015, we raised over $20,000 dollars for Make-A-Wish and granted 4 wishes! Dipsync is the largest student run, student attended event on campus. $20,000 is a record for sorority fundraising at F&M. Dipsync 2015 was spearheaded by our philanthropy chair, Allie Rubin '16.
Our fall event is ChiOmegathon! It is an afternoon of relay races and games that also benefits Make-A-Wish. Like Dipsync, teams pay to play and there are also general admission tickets available!
Twice a semester, sisters sell our homemade baked goods in the college center! It is such a nice way to have a presence on campus and to keep contributing to Make-A-Wish on a regular basis.
Finally, each Halloween, the sisterhood, along with Kappa Sigma, hosts an annual haunted house for the community. Children are able to enter a spooky world filled with crazy cooks, brooding witches, and the occasional ghost. It's not only a fun-filled night for the children, but also for the sisterhood.
