Activities
Participation in Activities develops us into well-rounded people.  We engage with others to develop outside interests and expose us to new and differing points of view.   By contributing in the larger world, we demonstrate that Chi Omega makes a difference in the lives of women.

Campus Activities Chair works with other Greek and non-Greek organizations to coordinate events going on on and around the UD Campus and community. Major responsibilities include planning Greek Week and Homecoming with the Social Chair.  Also acts as a liaison between the chapter and other fraternities and sororities during their philanthropic events.

Our chapter values the idea of being supportive, active members of our campus community, and the campus activities team works to ensure that we are upholding these ideals. We do so by organizing the chapter's participation in fun events such as Greek Week, Homecoming, Paddy Murphy, and Derby Days.  At each event, we encourage the Chapter's display of sportsmanship, support of other groups, and the cultivation of bonds between groups.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.

Rho Lambda has been working with Make-A-Wish for five years. Every fall we hold our largest annual fundraiser, Mr. Fraternity! This past year we set the bar high by hoping to beat the previous year's donations of $11000. We were very sucesful and raised over $13,000! In the Spring we gather at our Eluesinian Brunch to celebrate our wish child and to grant them their wish.

At the Chi Omega National Convention in July, we learned about an inspiring girl named Hope. She grew up with Chi Omega values as her two older sisters are in Chi Omega. While most children wish 'to be', 'to have' 'to visit' or 'to meet', Hope wished 'to give'. Find out more of her amazing story by clicking on her link in the links box.

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

Recruitment
Chi Omega is FUN! Every year, over 5,000 young women across America join the largest women’s fraternity in the world for sisterhood and lifelong friendships.

Scholarship
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship means that we care about our intellectual development.  We embrace the spirit and excitement of learning throughout our lives and encourage others to better themselves.

Chi Omega provides her sisters with an enriched academic and social experience. Our sisterhood prides itself on our scholastic achievements, participation in campus activities, and involvement with community service. More than half of our sisters are currently on the Dean's List and many are involved in extracurricular activities, athletics teams and University Honor Societies.

The University of Delaware utilizes the Chapter Assessment Program (CAP) which ranks each of the Greek organizations based on a variety of factors, one of which is academic performance. Chi Omega is proudly recognized as a GOLD STATUS organization.

Service
Community Service means that we want to make a difference on our campuses and in our communities.  We know that giving back to others unselfishly makes the world a better place and makes us better people.   Serving and giving helps to connect us.

Chi Omega at the University of Delaware gets involved in many community service events.  One event which we find very special and rewarding is Churchman's Senior Prom.  During this event we plan and hold a 'prom' for the senior residents at the Churchman's Senior Center.  One of the resident's last year stated "We look forward to this night all year."  Rho Lambda's main philanthropy is Make-A-Wish Foundation.  It is so amazing to be able to help such an extraordinary cause.  For the last 3 years we have had the fundraiser known as Mr. Fraternity.  Mr. Fraternity is a Greek male talent show, and thanks to the support of our fellow Greeks, we have been more successful in our fundraiser each year!  We have raised enough money all three years to grant the wishes of three amazing local children.  Last year we raised 13,000 dollars to send our friend, Classi, and her family to Disney World!  It is such a great cause and Chi Omega loves to help others, and we hope to be as successful this year!

Check out the Make-A-Wish box (below) for more information. Get excited for Mr. Fraternity this Fall!
