Activities
Participation in Activities develops us into well-rounded people.  We engage with others to develop outside interests and expose us to new and differing points of view.   By contributing in the larger world, we demonstrate that Chi Omega makes a difference in the lives of women.

At Wake Forest University, Chi Omega is represented in nearly every campus activity. We have varsity athletes on the golf, cheer, and field hockey teams. We have club and intramural athletes participating in tennis, soccer, flag football and lacrosse teams. There are also several Chi O ladies who enjoy and lead on-campus ministries like RUF and Emmaus, co-ed and female a capella groups like Demon Divas and Innuendo, and outdoor organizations like Outdoor Pursuits.

Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.

In 2010, the Zeta Lambda chapter of Chi Omega raised over $53,000 for Make-A-Wish and the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund through their annual Parent's Weekend Auction. This is the most the chapter has ever raised for the organization, and more than any other group on campus!

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

Recruitment
Chi Omega is FUN! Every year, over 5,000 young women across America join the largest women’s fraternity in the world for sisterhood and lifelong friendships.

At Wake Forest, informal recruitment, for sophomores and transfer students, takes place near the beginning of each fall semester. Formal recruitment, for freshmen and all other interested women, takes place in January before spring semester starts. There are several Panhellenic-sponsored events throughout the year to give Wake Forest ladies an opportunity to meet Greek women. For more information regarding Greek Life at Wake Forest, please see the official website at http://www.wfu.edu/housing/greek/index.html.

Scholarship
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship means that we care about our intellectual development.  We embrace the spirit and excitement of learning throughout our lives and encourage others to better themselves.

Many Chi Omegas at Wake Forest have been honored by departmental and university-wide National Honor Societies including the Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board, and Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor Societies. There are also many Chi Omega ladies who attend Wake Forest on full or partial scholarships based on scholastic achievement.
Service
Community Service means that we want to make a difference on our campuses and in our communities.  We know that giving back to others unselfishly makes the world a better place and makes us better people.   Serving and giving helps to connect us.

The Zeta Lambda Chapter is most proud of its annual Parent's Weekend auction, which raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Brian Piccolo Foundation for Cancer Research. Many Chi Omega ladies also participate in Rush for the Cure, Project Pumpkin, Wake n' Shake, Volunteer Service Corps, D.E.S.K. and Campus Kitchens. Several Wake Forest Chi Omegas have also participated in service trips to countries like India and the Dominican Republic.
Symphony
The Chi Omega Symphony has reflected the purposes of Chi Omega members since its composition in 1904 by Ethel Switzer Howard on the eve of her initiation into the Xi Chapter of Chi Omega at Northwestern University.

Each Zeta Lambda has a framed copy of The Symphony and displays it as a reminder of its importance in her daily life.
