Activities
Participation in Activities develops us into well-rounded people.  We engage with others to develop outside interests and expose us to new and differing points of view.   By contributing in the larger world, we demonstrate that Chi Omega makes a difference in the lives of women.

Welcome to the Social Page...

S ometimes a girl just needs to let her hair down and have some fun! At Chi Omega, we have numerous social events throughout the year. We have a formal in the fall, as well as a formal in the spring. The senior Chi-O's get to plan the spring formal, and they are the only ones who get to know ahead of time where it will be held. In the past, we have danced the night away at places like Ocean Journey, the Boulder Country Club, Invesco Field, and way more!

Chi O's at Formal!

Bright and Tight Date Dash

Our social events throughout the year range from theme parties with fraternities to date dashes and it is always a guaranteed good time! Our social chair does an excellent job of coming up with new ideas for social events and themes. Some of the parties for this semester include: Bright and Tight Date Dash, Back Where I Come From, Chi O Primetime, Pirate Party, Miami Vice and of course our annual Spring Formal....and we have a lots of fun ideas in store for next semester.

Back Where I Come From Exchange w/ Sig Ep at the Sink!

Our social chair this year is Alex Smith... this is what she has to say about how the Chi O's have fun!

As social chair, I not only get to act as the host of the party, but I also get to do all the behind the scenes planning. Social chair also works hand in hand with other sororities, fraternities, and clubs on campus.  My job is the best of all worlds... I get to meet new people, plan events, and see all the fun everyone has had once the event is over!  I also work with the Chi O design team, and together we come up with cute t-shirts/sweatshirts for every party. We also always have Colorado Candids (our favortie photographers) come take snapshots at each event, so we have lasting memories of the good times!

I'd love to hear feedback about any of the events.   Also, if you have any stellar ideas  send them my way!  Feel free to e-mail me!

Friendship
Friendship is what binds us to each other and to our Fraternity.  The friendships we develop in Chi Omega give us a home across geography and generations and give us lasting support throughout our lives.

You know what they say?  They say these women are the ones who will be your bridesmaids at your wedding. They say that these women will be your best friends for life. But what they don't say is this...

In Chi O...
When all you want is someone to watch a chick flick with, all you have to do is head to the living room

When you are getting ready to go out for a night on the town, all of a sudden you have 80 closets to choose from!

When you are craving cookies and ice cream, all you have to do is say those words and there will be 20 girls ready to head out on your sweet tooth mission. (Boulder Baked or Pizookies...you choose!)

We all call our house the chee, take pride in the fact that we are all "hooters" and we all appreciate the fact that we only live a block away from campus on snowy days.

Singing at the top of your lungs in the shower is okay!

Thursday nights at 8:00= GREY'S ANATOMY!

There is nothing like having a full time chef to cook whatever your little heart desires (hey chocolate chip pancakes and amazing desserts every day!)

Nobody will judge you for your funny stories on Sunday mornings!

You will find your best friend!  GUARANTEED!

You always have a study buddy, no matter the hour, and more importantly a Starbucks buddy!

When you need a should to cry on, you have a 120 amazing girls who will cheer you up and instantly make you feel 1000 times better!

Dance parties in the living room are always a good idea.

No matter the hour, you always have someone to laugh with, cry with, sing with, dance with, and have plenty of KODAK moments with!

Make-A-Wish Foundation
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is Chi Omega Fraternity's National Philanthropy. Since the start of our alliance, Chi Omegas have made a difference in many children's lives through volunteering time, talents, and dollars. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has honored Chi Omega for the incredible volunteer efforts of our members.
Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

Service
Community Service means that we want to make a difference on our campuses and in our communities.  We know that giving back to others unselfishly makes the world a better place and makes us better people.   Serving and giving helps to connect us.

Who: Chi Omega (Zeta) & the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado
What: The Annual Chi Omega Karaoke

Why: To reach our goal of granting a wish to a courageous Colorado child fighting a life threatening disease

Chi Omega hosts on a lipsync competition between fraternities to raise money for make a wish foundation.

Our Philanthropy...

It is the spirit of community service that has brought the sisters of Chi Omega into the Make-A-Wish family. Chi Omega chapters support the Make-A-Wish foundation, as their national philanthropy through volunteering, fund raising, and special events across the United States. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses to enrich their lives with hope, strength and friendly smiles.

Chi-O Karaoke benefits Make-A-Wish
(article published in 2003 Summer edition of Zeta News)

On Wednesday the 4th of October our friends and fellows Greeks filled Hale 240 as Chi Omega hosted their first annual lipsync competition for their philanthropy, Make-A-Wish. The fraternity boys dressed up in crazy costumes and entertained the crowd with their crazy dance moves It was a great success, as we raised almost twice as much as last year, and were fortunate enough to be able to give the Make-A-Wish Foundation over $2,400. Thank you to everyone who participated! A special thanks goes to Katelyn Centerwall, our Philanthropy chair, who made this all possible!

The lipsync was a great success, and we can't wait until next year to try and raise more money. Chi-O is thankful for the opportunity to share the power of granting a wish.

Chi O's in the Community...
Not only are we busy with our other philanthropies, we Chi O's like to be innvolved in the greek community and in the Boulder local community. You can catch us out and about at some of these other philanthropic events!

Participating in other houses philanthropies (Powder Puff, Greek Grand Slam and more!)

Mentoring kids in the community through service programs like Girl Scouts, Youth Groups, and coaching children's sports teams

Volunteering and participating in Dance Marathon with the rest of the panhellenic ladies

Fundraising for various philanthropies in the community

We help the freshman move into their dorms during orientation week (we are of course super strong after this event!)

This year we will even be adding some mare absolutely amazing volunteer opportunities to our repotoire!  Look for us opening up our home for some holiday fun, visiting the elderly, and whatever else our wonderful Philanthropy Chair dreams up!
