Service
Community Service means that we want to make a difference on our campuses and in our
communities. We know that giving back to
others unselfishly makes the world a better place and makes us better
people. Serving and giving helps to
connect us.
We Make a Difference!
The St. Louis Chi Omega Alumnae have been selling pecans each year since 1968 to support our local philanthropy, Sunnyhill, Inc. Currently, our monies are 'making a difference' at Sunnyhill, Inc., an agency that serves those with developmental disabilities through summer camps and residential services. Last May, our group presented Sunnyhill with a check from our sales (see picture on above). Please see the insert on our "pecan stations" and pick up your pecans.More about Sunnyhill, Inc.:
http://www.sunnyhillinc.org/index.htmlSt. Louis Chi Omega Alums have raised about $90,000.00 through the years for Sunnyhill, Inc. with the annual Pecan Sale (since 1968
when we had an initial 'pecan sale').
The photo above is of the presentation of a $4000.00 check to

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our Holiday Kindness, which is funded by the annual cookie exchange auction in December, is awarded to a charity nominated and voted on by chapter members. In addition to these projects, other St. Louis charities receive proceeds from other activities. In the past, these activities have included fashion show/luncheon, boutique/craft sale, cookie exchange, and gift wrapping services.
Our alumnae chapter supports the Tau Mu chapter of Chi Omega at Washington University through joint events like Eleusinia and provides guidance through the Advisory Board, House Corporation and recruitment. Our goal is to increase our support of the other Missouri active chapters that do not have an affiliated alumnae chapter in their city, which includes UM-Columbia, UM-Rolla, William Woods and Culver-Stockton. Volunteer to be an active-alumnae coordinator!
We also support our National Philanthropy,
Make-A-Wish through our own fund-raising events or the Tau Mu (Washington University) active chapter's events.
