Youngstown Area Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter
Please contact Peggy Zampini at:

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.
Sincere Learning and Creditable Scholarship means that we care about our intellectual development.  We embrace the spirit and excitement of learning throughout our lives and encourage others to better themselves.
Youngstown Area Chi Omega Alumnae support scholarship by awarding a scholarship to a deserving undergraduate sister at each Chi-O-hio Day. Please contact for more information.

Youngstown Area Chi Omega Alumnae recently celebrated our 70th Founder's Day luncheon at Tippecanoe Country Club in Canfield, Ohio. Our very first meeting was held on February 5, 1941 and we are the oldest continually meeting sorority alumnae group in the area. Over these years, our active group has supported our community with many service projects including auctions & grand formal dances. During WWII, our sisters made quilts & collected other items to send to soldiers overseas.

Youngstown Chi Omega Alumnae members have long supported many local charities & philanthropies. Examples include sponsoring families at Christmas, supporting local women's shelters (such as Beatitute House and Sojourner Battered Women's Shelter) & donating to various children's charities. Many members of our loyal group are proud 50 year members!

Membership is open to all area Chi Omega alumnae and we welcome new members at any time! Please contact for more information.
