Participation in Activities develops us into well-rounded people.  We engage with others to develop outside interests and expose us to new and differing points of view.   By contributing in the larger world, we demonstrate that Chi Omega makes a difference in the lives of women.

Chi O Casino-
Our alumnae chapter helps support the Omicron Mu Chapter with their casino night fundraiser for Make-A-Wish. This year's event was held Friday night, Feb. 27, 2015 in the Chumash Auditorium in the University Union on the Cal Poly campus. Each year the Omicron Mu Chapter raises enough funds to grant wishes for several local children.

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.
Chi Omega is FUN! Every year, over 5,000 young women across America join the largest women’s fraternity in the world for sisterhood and lifelong friendships.

Formal recruitment for Fall 2015 will be September 21-28 with Bid Night on September 29.
We know that Omicron Mu will grow with an outstanding New Member class again this year!

Welcome to the Chi Omega Alumnae Chapter of San Luis Obispo, California website!

Our chapter was formed in the Fall of 2008. Many of our members are involved with the collegiate chapter at Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo). Many of the members serve as advisors and on the House Corporation Board for Omicron Mu Chapter. Omicron Mu was installed as a chapter in April 2008, so for the past few years years now we've been involved with the colony, the new chapter, and most recently with obtaining a house for the chapter, getting it ready and it's upkeep. This has been an opportunity for many of us who hadn't been involved with Chi Omega since we graduated from college to have an active part in Chi O Sisterhood once more! We've had the chance to meet and work with so many sisters that we didn't previously know that are in the area. And we've gotten to meet many of the Chi Omega National Officers and staff. The support from National has been incredible! The chapter officially received it's charter at the 2010 National Convention in Orlando, Florida.

Our alumnae chapter includes members that attended colleges throughout California and the entire country. We have quite a cross-section of different ages, and members that graduated from colleges with more-established Chi O chapters and newer chapters too. We have members from North SLO County (Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero) south to the northern part of Santa Barbara County (Santa Maria).
Please contact us if you are in the San Luis Obispo area!
