Participation in Activities develops us into well-rounded people.  We engage with others to develop outside interests and expose us to new and differing points of view.   By contributing in the larger world, we demonstrate that Chi Omega makes a difference in the lives of women.

One of the main goals of the Montana Alumnae Chapter is to have fun! In the last year we have hosted or co-hosted a family day at Splash Montana (see photo above), Red Bus Tour in Glacier National Park, several "Libation Hydration" events, mini-golf, Homecoming welcome social and tailgate at Montana State University, Holiday Cookie Exchanges, ski day, Eleusinia (with milestone anniversary year certificate presentations) and Chi Omega Commencement Reception. Our calendar is being developed for the next 12 months, so stay in touch with this website as more activities are announced.
November: "Chi Omega Bobcat Tailgate" at the 114th annual "Brawl of the Wild" football matchup between MSU Bobcats and UM Grizzlies, hosted by Jamie Ryan Lockman on November 22nd in Missoula. See our FaceBook site (Montana Alumnae Chapter of Chi Omega) for more details.
December: "Mingling at the Myrna" hosted by Karen Dombeck Jakovac in Helena Montana. Look for informational email advertisements and event notifications on our FaceBook page.
January: Family ski day at Bridger Ski Area. Details coming!
March: "Puttin on the Green" gathering in Great Falls. Details coming!
We are currently working on events to include:  Horseback riding, "Dinner and a Movie" evenings, Night Owl gatherings, family play days, wine tasting/pairing, Bowling, lunch dates and more!
Due to the great success at MSU's Homecoming 2014, we are already planning for 2015! We are looking for three more women to co-host the "Chi Omega Alumnae Welcome 'Home' Social" on Friday night and at least one more alumna to co-host the "Bloodies and Bagels" or "Muffins and Mimosas" tailgate on Saturday.  If you are willing to assist, please let us know!

Friendship is what binds us to each other and to our Fraternity.  The friendships we develop in Chi Omega give us a home across geography and generations and give us lasting support throughout our lives.
Membership in Chi Omega is for a lifetime. Our network of Sisters and the spirit of Chi Omega are a home wherever you are. We invite you to connect!
We are in the process of inviting Sisters to join our new Alumnae Chapter. Please join us for one of our upcoming events or contact via e-mail to make sure you are on our e-mail list! More information for joining is being developed. Stay tuned!

Our Story
It all began on April 5, 1895, at the University of Arkansas when four young women, with the help of a local dentist, established the secrets and symbolism that today bind over 260,000 women. This small band of women founded Chi Omega after realizing a need for an organization that would foster both friendship and respect for the potential and inherent value of women. Over the years, Chi Omega has provided its members with unique opportunities in leadership, scholarship, and lifelong friendship - striving to provide each Sister with a commitment to personal integrity, excellence in academic and intellectual pursuits, intergenerational participation, community service, leadership opportunities and social enrichment.

Chi Omega’s symbols are a visual representation of our purposes and ideals.
The Chi Omega Symphony has reflected the purposes of Chi Omega members since its composition in 1904 by Ethel Switzer Howard on the eve of her initiation into the Xi Chapter of Chi Omega at Northwestern University.

We are thrilled to announce that the Montana Alumnae Chapter of Chi Omega received our official Charter at the 2014 National Chi Omega Convention: Symphony of Sisterhood!

Due to large area and sparse population of Big Sky Country, we have taken on the task of connecting all Chi Omega Alumnae living here under one chapter. This allows us to provide a variety of events around the state at different times throughout the year for every Chi Omega of all generations to be involved and reconnect or stay connect to their Fraternity and Sisters. We have had a lot of fun over the past two years creating and building our Alumnae Chapter, and the future will only be brighter!

We welcome you to be a part of this exciting time! If you want to become involved as a Board member, Event Chair or participant, please contact us!
